In seventh grade, COVID-19  hit, and we were out of school. In our eighth-grade year, we were finally able to return to school in the latter part of the year. Then, in the blink of an eye, we were in high school at the beginning of 2021. Freshman year, we were nervous about what our high school life would be like; we were comparing ourselves to the upperclassmen, even using them as mentors. We’ve all learned and grown so much.

Time passed, and all of a sudden…

We weren’t worrying about our lives within the walls of Kettle Run. We were worrying about who we were going to be as adults outside the halls of Kettle Run. We didn’t realize it, but we were the mentors now. Freshman year, we wanted to be seniors, senior year, we wanted to be freshmen, so we could relive our high school experience. As we get closer to graduating, the realization that our high school careers are coming to an end. Class of 2025, we did it. We passed the exams, we made it pass the drama, we made it pass the presentations we were dreading. We did it.

For the underclassmen, here’s some advice seniors want you to hear…

“Don’t be afraid to ask for help, whether it’s school, life, or your mental health. It’s okay to struggle, just don’t give up.”

“Take every opportunity (whether social or academic) presented to you because that opportunity may never come again.”

“Follow your passion, and make connections with teachers/ your classmates.”

“Work hard, dream big.”

“No matter how much you hate it, your most memorable moments will be made in high school. Enjoy it while it lasts.”

The seniors were then asked to describe their class of 2025 in one word. Here are a few of their responses…

“Tough- we went through a lot and still made it.”

“Memorable, because everyone in the class of 25 had a crucial role in strengthening friendships, sports, organizations, and clubs in their own way to make Kettle Run a better place.”

“Chaotic, because a lot of us are a little crazy at times.”

“Competitive or hardworking. Our class is very successful in the best ways.”

Everyone in the class of 2025 should be proud of themselves. Can’t wait to see what these graduates of Kettle Run High School accomplish. Congratulations again, class of 2025. It has been a memorable year!
