As the fall season approaches, people are getting excited for all the goodies that come with the approaching season. Tiktok as always is the megaphone of trends and opinions. We decided to try making some of the best fall recipes that are trending on Tiktok. Alongside these treats we made a list of the perfect activities to enjoy this fall. This includes, Apple picking, pumpkin carving, haunted houses and fall themed treats
We all know that being able to settle down and have a good treat to go with your scary movie night is important so we picked some of the best treats we could find. Here are some of the best recipes that we made and what we thought of them!
The first recipe we tried was arguably the easiest and maybe even the best tasting, pretzel spider treats. These treats took 20 minutes to make 4, or about 5 minutes per treat. All you need is pretzel sticks, chocolate chips, large marshmallows, and something to represent eyes (googly eye sprinkles, m+m’s, chocolate chips, etc.). First, you break your pretzel sticks in half, and then stick them into the marshmallow. This should start to look like a spider, with 4 legs on both sides of the marshmallow. Next, you melt your chocolate chips, and then dunk your spiders into the chocolate, careful to fully coat it. Be sure to shake off the excess chocolate before placing them on a flat surface, like a plate. Finally, you add your eyes wherever you’d like, and chill them in the fridge or freezer.

The next pastry we tried was a pumpkin puff pastry. These pastries are very sweet and perfectly fluffy. They are made with ¼ cups pumpkin purée, ¼ cup light brown sugar, 3 tbsp granulated sugar, 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 egg yolks. Mix these in a medium bowl until there are no clumps. Next, unroll 2 sheets of thawed puff pastry onto a surface with flour evenly covering the baking space. Then cut each sheet into 4 squares, try to make them as even as you can! Then you spoon about 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of the pumpkin filling into the center of your squares (be careful not to put too much or it will leak). Lightly wet the edges with water or butter, fold the squares diagonally to form triangles. To close them off, seal the edges by using a fork to press them down with minimal force. For ventilation cut 2 slits in the top before proceeding with the next step. Finally, brush the pastries with an egg wash made from 1 large egg beaten with 1 tbsp water. Now put your pastries on some parchment paper or a baking sheet and pop them in the oven for 15 minutes or until you see them start to turn golden brown. For an extra touch of light sweetness add some powdered sugar on top and they are ready to serve!

Finally, we tried pumpkin cinnamon rolls. If you love the pumpkin flavors of fall, along with the cinnamon sweetness, these are just for you! First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees (F), then lightly grease a 9-inch round pan. Next, mix together 1 cup of canned pumpkin puree and 1 ¾ cups of self-rising flour in a medium bowl. Then, cover a flat surface with flour to prevent sticking and flatten your dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread 4 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter onto your dough, then evenly spread ½ cup of brown sugar and 1 tbsp of cinnamon over the butter. Starting from the long side, roll the dough up to make a log. Then, cut your dough into 8 even rolls and bake for 25-28 minutes. While the rolls are baking, whisk together 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1-2 tbsp of milk. Let the cinnamon rolls cool for 5-10 minutes before drizzling the glaze on top.

Activities
For fall activities we have so many we could recommend, however here are a few we noticed that stood out to people. We took a small poll of what activities people enjoyed during this season and they gave us some common answers.
Haunted houses: Since it is a spooky season you can imagine that people would want to experience a good scare. Haunted houses are an awesome activity to get a couple of screams in this season. They can be done with family, friends, a crush, or even all by yourself if you’re brave enough.
Apple picking: A more mundane seasonal activity but it’s no less enjoyable, apple picking is a nice opportunity to get some ingredients for seasonal treats or just some cider. Even if you’re not the baking type, it’s a nice calm activity to engage any variety of people.
Corn mazes: What better way to get lost in your thoughts than to get lost in a maze of core, right? Corn mazes are quite the experience for anyone, even if you are good at getting yourself out of tough situations.
All of these activities and sweets are just small parts of the fun of fall. So don’t forget to try out what you can and make the most of this change filled season. Grab your family, a group of friends or the person you’re interested in and try these out with them. You never know what might come of fall, after all it’s the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice.
