A Spectacular Night at Prom

KRHS Prom King and Queen.
KRHS Prom King and Queen.

The prom was hosted at The Inn at Vint Hill on Saturday, April 20th starting at 8 pm and ending at midnight. After Prom was at the school, beginning at midnight and ending at 4 am. The prom theme this year was Mardi Gras. The Junior SCA at Kettle Run chose this particular theme because of the vibrant colors and the element of masquerade is always interesting.

At prom by the entrance where prom guests first walk in, there was a section off to the side where guests could drop off their purses or coats. There was a table of snacks and water inside on a table. Outside in the back was a big tent with a dance floor that everyone socialized under, there was a bonfire on the patio and cornhole. There was a wonderful DJ where students could request their favorite songs to be played. There was a photo booth for everyone to take pictures with friends and partners to never forget the amazing time they had! There were photographers taking pictures of everyone having fun.

In addition to prom, there was an after-prom. After prom is for students who want to go to a party after the prom. After prom is hosted by parents looking out for students’ safety. There was a lot of food provided for students and several fun activities. The activities included a rock wall, an inflatable fighting ring, a mechanical bull, a bungee run,  and more. There were also prizes that several juniors and seniors won. The prizes were TVs, a mini fridge, gift cards, Stanley cups, a PS5, and more cool stuff. There was even a band performing!
