The annual event of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is known and loved all over America. The charming display of floats, balloons, and performers rings in the holiday season and gets everyone in both the Thanksgiving and Christmas spirit. Watching this parade with a turkey in the oven is a tradition for many of us. Therefore you may be wondering, what should we expect from this year’s parade? 

Floats: Five brand new floats are coming to the parade! These include a Baby Shark float, Toys R Us´s Geoffrey the Giraffe float, and Wonderbread´s The Wondership. A few great examples of favorite floats returning are Sesame Street, Snoopy’s Doghouse, Tom Turkey, and of course, Santa’s Sleigh. 

Balloons: A brand new Bluey balloon is going to be in the parade for the first time! Other new balloons include Staurt the minion and Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Some returning favorites are Astronaut Snoopy, Pokemon´s Pikachu and Evee balloon, Boss Baby, Spongebob Squarepants, and of course all of the classics like the Macy’s Stars, Ronald McDonald, and Smokey Bear. 

Performers: Some very noteworthy performers to look out for when watching the parade are Big Time Rush, Fitz and The Tantrums, and Gloria Estefan. 

2022´s Macy Thanksgiving Day parade will be as familiar and heartwarming as ever, with a few welcome new additions. Holiday traditions such as these are always something to look forward too, and get us excited for Christmastime.
