Spider-Verse is an Animation Game Changer

2018 film is still making history by breaking the charts in 2019

Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse is easily becoming one of the best adaptations of the web-slinger in history, climbing the charts and charming many.

Spider-Man has been around since the early ’60s. Since then, the character of Peter Parker has been adapted into movies, television shows, cartoons, novels, and even video games. The character of Spider-man has been recreated and altered in many ways since his debut. He has been seen as a robot, a spider-monster, and even a cartoon pig. But now, a new version of the character has come to life, and to everyone surprise, it’s not Peter Parker.

On Dec. 14th, 2018, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse hit the theatres. It has made $35.4 million at the box office, making it the best-ever December opening for an animated film. The movie has gone on to receive a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and won a Golden Globe for “Best Animated Film”. Now, it is nominated for an Academy Award at the Oscars for “Best Animated Film,” easily climbing to one of the top movies of the year.

The goal of the movie is to explain what it means to be Spider-Man. Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), is the protagonist of the movie is trying to be the new Spider-Man after the death of his universe’s version of the hero. But when alternate versions of the hero start coming to Miles’s universe from other dimensions, he is forced to help them get back home or the multiverse, as a whole, would be destroyed.

For the visual effects, the movie was animated to look like a comic book, allowing the audience to believe they’re watching a comic book movie, not a new version of the comic. This difference in animation effectively caught the eye of the audience and captivated everyone who was watching.

This movie is filled with comedy, beautiful animation that makes you feel like your in a comic book, and overall amazing moments. Even if you are not a huge Spider-Man fan, you will still enjoy this movie very much because of phenomenal characters and the overall fun feel of the movie. A lot of heart was put into this movie and it definitely shows. The moral of the movie is that anybody can be Spider-Man. Even though he has powers, he still goes through things like everyone else. Miles Morales is an outcast and things don’t always go his way. This movie, like other Spider-Man movies that use Peter Parker’s character, shows those elements of being Spider-Man beautifully. Even though Peter Parker is the main character in this story, it is not his story. It is Miles’s story. It is his origin story. Spider-Verse totally represents everything that Spider-Man is about. He is about responsibility and humility. Miles Morales shows all of that even when he swings through Brooklyn.

Overall, Spider-Verse is a 10 out of 10 movie that any entertainment fan should go see. Not only is it family-friendly, but it is also a good movie to go out and watch with your group of friends. Into the Spider-Verse is filled with characters that many people can relate to and tons of emotional and amazing scenes that draw in the audience. Even if you have seen the movie once or twice, the animation and description of the movie invites you to go see it again. Even if you do not love superhero movies or animated movies, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is still a film to experience with amazing fantasy and action.
