Starbucks Drinks to Enjoy this Holiday Season

Mandy Holmes, Staff Writer

This year Starbucks launched their winter holiday menu on November 4, 2021. They have unveiled a brand new drink, along with bringing back several favorites. There are also a few additions to their bakery for the holidays.

Starting off with something new, Starbucks introduced the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte! It is made of sugar cookie flavored syrup, paired with their blond espresso blend and steamed almond milk, topped with sprinkles. This drink can be served hot or cold. It is Starbucks first non-dairy holiday drink.

Some classic favorites returning this year include the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. Also returning is the Irish Cream Cold Brew, although it wasn’t on the holiday menu last year.

My personal favorite, the Peppermint Mocha, consists of espresso, steamed milk, peppermint flavored syrup, and mocha sauce. It is topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls, and is usually served hot.

The Caramel Brulee Latte is made of espresso, steamed milk, caramel brulee sauce, and topped with whipped cream and caramel brulee curls. It is generally served hot.

The Chestnut Praline Latte has espresso, steamed milk, caramelized chestnut and spices, finished with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.

The Toasted White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino is described as a blended beverage, with Frappuccino roast coffee, milk and caramelized white chocolate flavoring. It is topped with whipped cream, sugar sparkles, and crispy white pearls.

The Irish Cream Cold Brew returns, and consists of Starbucks cold brew, Irish cream syrup, and sweet cream cold foam with a dash of cocoa powder on top. As the name suggests, it is served cold.

Also being brought back are fan favorite red holiday cups! This year’s designs feature candy cane stripes, ribbons, holiday light, and wrapping paper.

Starbucks red cups are a portal to holiday joy,” said Suzie Reecer, Starbucks associate creative director. “Any time you’re holding the cup, we hope that it’s just filling you with the excitement of the season and reconnecting with friends and family.”

There are also two new holiday additions to the bakery. This year there is a snowman sugar cookie and a reindeer cake pop, which is adorable. This is different from the snowman cake pop last year, but tastes just as good.

All these additions are fun ways to spread holiday cheer! If you want something quick to enjoy this holiday season, make sure you stop by Starbucks before this limited edition selection ends!
